Magi Yassa is the director of the Collective of Applied Science and Polymer Research (CASPR). She focuses on interdisciplinary engagement, mentorships new hires, and advocating for bridging the gap across PADs within the applied science and polymer fields.
Magi is also the technical lead as formulation and polymer chemist in multiple 3D printing and additive manufacturing research projects funded by DoE, DoD and Lab directed research (LDRD). Her work focuses on two photon polymerization, polymeric aerogels, 3D printing ceramics, microencapsulation, stimuli responsive materials, anion exchange membranes, and fundamental characterization including NMR, FTIR, Raman, and SEM. Before coming to LLNL, Magi worked as a contractor material scientist at IBM, Almaden research lab. She worked on semiconductive material and selective deposition ALD research. She also published numerous peer review publications and patents. Magi received her PhD in organic chemistry from UC, Riverside, which focused on molecular recognition and material interaction in self-assemble systems.
