William Yang is a Postdoctoral Research Scientistic working in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing. He is working on the Framework for Optimal Climate-Infrastructure Solutions and Decision Support strategic initiative, supervised by Dr. Jean-Paul Watson. His work involves stochastic optimization methods for power grid expansion plan while considering the energy technology supply chain and large-load facilities. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S.E. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Washington, advised by Dr. Chaoyue Zhao, and his B.S.E. in Industrial Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
