Sue Taylor is the Associate Program Director for Stockpile Support in the Nuclear Weapon Engineering Program under the Weapons & Complex Integration (WCI) Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She has held this position since 2011. In this role, her areas of responsibility include weapon component shipping containers, dismantlement disposition, NWE IT maintenance, the engineering release system and configuration management, National Security Enterprise production plant support, environmental testing and flight test diagnostics capability, coordination and management of the DSW stockpile services budget, coordination of LLNL's Annual Assessment, coordination of the Integrated Nuclear Weapon Assessment Program, and coordination of the Weapon Response and Nuclear Explosive Safety Study.
Ms. Taylor has 26 years of experience in the weapons program at LLNL. She has worked on numerous weapon systems throughout her career including the W82, W89, Pit Reuse for Enhanced Safety & Security (PRESS), Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Warhead Protection Program, and the W87 Life Extension Program (LEP). Her weapon system roles included technical team member, lead primary engineer, and system manager. From 2004 to 2011, she was the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) deputy division leader, responsible for managing much of the personnel activities for the division that is the administrative home of the Nuclear Weapon Engineering Program.
Ms. Taylor received her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, in 1986. She also received certificates from the NATO Nuclear Policy & Risks of Proliferation in 2008 and from the UC Berkeley Center for Executive Education, Leadership Institute in 2010.
