I work broadly in the field of computational solid mechanics. My main research interests are:

• Design optimization in highly nonlinear problems;
• Modeling of fracture, particularly beyond the domain of traditional fracture mechanics. This means things like tearing and cavitation in soft matter, fracture of thin shells and membranes, and ductile failure of engineering alloys.
