Ziva Shulaker is a research scientist in the Trace Isotope and Element Signatures Group in the Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division. Her expertise and interests are in advancing high-precision mass spectrometry methods (RIMS, NGMS, LA-ICP-MS, SIMS) to address complex problems across scientific fields. She is a member of the Laser Ionization of Neutrals (LION) laboratory at LLNL, which uses resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS) to uniquely characterize isotopic signatures of material, from presolar grains (particles that derive from stellar explosions before the formation of our solar system) to nuclear material. She currently develops and applies novel RIMS measurements in the LION laboratory to nonproliferation and safeguards mission space.
