Koroush Sasan earned a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of California at Riverside. Afterwards, he joined Sandia National Lab as a postdoc, where he developed novel nanoparticles and porous materials for catalysts and water treatment applications. Following his postdoc work at Sandia National Lab, he joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Since 2017, he has been focused on developing innovative 3D printing methods for creating optical materials and glass components with customizable structure and material properties. Additionally, he leads the effort to develop preforms for the next generation of fiber lasers.
Research Interests:
- Sol-gel chemistry
- Surface characterization
- Ion-exchange materials
- Nanoporous materials
- 3D printing inks development
- Optical properties of glasses
