Vincent Riot has a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Bristol (UK), an Engineer’s Degree from ENST in Paris (France) and has been working for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) since early 2003 on various homeland security and Department of Energy Office of Science projects ranging from radiation detection, bio-aerosol instrumentation, space situational awareness, astronomy to fundamental science. He is currently the LLNL Advanced Sources and Detectors (ASD) Scorpius accelerator Senior Team Lead and the ton scale neutrinoless double beta decay nEXO experiment project manager. Vincent has served in the past as the Rubin Observatory LSST (Legacy Survey of Space and Time) camera project manager, the LSST Camera system engineer, Camera optical system and Camera corner raft system engineering manager as well as principle investigator, project manager and lead system engineer for various projects in support of the LLNL small satellite program portfolio and was previously the lead electrical engineer for the GNEP (Global Nuclear Energy Partnership) time projection chamber project.

He previously worked for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on nuclear physics instrumentation for the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) and the GRETA (Gamma Ray Energy Tracking Array) programs.

He is the recipient two R&D 100 awards (2005), a Federal Laboratory Consortium technology transfer award (2011), the holder of fourteen US patents and has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals including IEEE and SPIE on a wide range of subjects. He also was part of the team receiving the DOE Office of Science 2021 project management achievement award for his role on the Rubin Observatory LSST camera.
