I have the honor of being the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) Division Leader since December 2021.  DTED, one of five Engineering Directorate divisions, is a multidisciplinary and diverse organization with a primary mission to support the LLNL weapons program.  DTED staff support the core missions of the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) Principal Associate Directorate to include nuclear weapon sustainment, nuclear weapon modernization, and conventional weapon development.  We accomplish this mission through expertise in nuclear material engineering, systems engineering, weapon component design, project management, product realization, technology maturation, subsystem and system level testing, flight testing, and military integration.  DTED’s workforce consists of highly skilled technicians, designers, engineers, business operations, and administrative professionals.  DTED’s vision is to be the premier weapon engineering organization meeting national security commitments while focusing on our workforce.

Prior to my current role I was the engineering leader for the W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP), the first major modernization program at LLNL in over 20 years.  The W80-4 is focused on meeting new military requirements as we integrate onto a new United States Air Force cruise missile.  The W80-4 is a critical piece of the nation’s future nuclear strategy.

I started at LLNL in 2001 after a short stint at Pratt Whitney Space Propulsion in San Jose’s Coyote Valley.  I’m a Livermore local having spent most of life here.  My hobbies and interests include home projects, SF Giants baseball, traveling, musical theater, coffee, steak, spending time with friends, and focusing on my wonderful family.
