Tuan is currently a Staff Scientist in the Material Science Division-Physical Life Science Directorate (MSD-PLS) at LLNL. His research lies in the area of combustion modeling of multi-phase materials. Currently, Tuan is working in the area of Energetic Material Cookoff Modeling. Previously, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, Tuan studied the evaporation and subsequently combustion processes of liquid fuels that are relevant in both gasoline and diesel gas engines. As a Ph.D. student at University of California Irvine, Tuan developed and used a compressible turbulent combustion solver to
study longitudinal combustion instability within a liquid rocket engine.
