Jason earned his B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech in 2007 and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at MIT in 2012, where his thesis focused on kinetic modeling, automated optimization, and experimentation in microreactor systems. Before joining LLNL, he worked in Dow Chemical’s Reaction Engineering group of Core R&D, modeling and testing polymerization and flow processes. In 2016, Jason joined the PLS Material Science Division’s Mesoscale & Hazard Response subgroup in Reaction Dynamics.  Jason’s research focuses on “cookoff” modeling of high explosives using data from several different thermal-experiments - including ODTX - as well as modeling for LLNL’s development and scale-up of energetic material flow synthesis.
