Montesano is a Bay Area native and lives in town with his beautiful family. He is a Mechatronic Engineering graduate from Chico State’s phenomenal Engineering program, that proudly ranked #1 in California on the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard in 2013. Montesano first started at LLNL in 2018 and is a lead controls and project engineer on the Safety Systems and Controls group within LSEO, programmatically responsible for all things controls related within the NIF. He currently enjoys leading engineering projects in support of system enhancements and sustainment, while also supporting workforce development, mentoring, and promoting a positive work culture here at LLNL. Before joining the lab, Montesano worked as a lead Controls Engineer for over six years at one of the top ranked system integrator giants, Wunderlich-Malec, for innumerable customers in motion, building automation, and production process applications.
