Dr. Wayne Bradford Mitchell is a computational scientist at CASC and is part of the hypre team. His research focuses on multigrid algorithms, linear solvers, and algorithms for massively parallel high-performance computing. Wayne earned a PhD in applied mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2017, advised by Tom Manteuffel. During his PhD research, Wayne spent three summers as an intern at LLNL (two of those in CASC), and after a postdoc at Heidelberg University in Germany, Wayne returned to the lab as staff member in 2021.
