Renata McCoy is the Life and Climate Science Group Lead in Global Security Computing Applications Division at LLNL. She is the Chief Operating Officer, Project Engineer, and the Executive Committee member of the DOE Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM). She has extensive experience and knowledge in broad implementation of project management techniques, project tracking, agile development techniques, and their scaling to enterprise solutions. She had strong domain knowledge in climate science and broad education and experience in atmospheric physics modeling; single-column and global climate model diagnosis, analysis, and intercomparison; computational methods in molecular fluid dynamics; statistical simulations; nonlinear optics; chaotic mixing; ignition simulation; parallel programming; load balancing; high-performance computing; software engineering; observational data analysis; quality controls; data management; and Graphical User Interface design and development.
