Kathleen McCandless is a computer scientist matrixed from the Biology, Atmosphere, Chemistry and Earth (BACE) Division to the Center for Applied Scientific Computing (CASC) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She is responsible for the software engineering and code infrastructure on the wave propagation project (see Serpentine Wave Propagation).

She earned her M.Sc. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2005, and a B.A. in Physics from Scripps College in 1998.
