Resarch Interests

Dr. Mason is the Director of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility within the Physical and Life Sciences Directorate at LLNL. In this role, he sets the strategic direction for NMR research at the Lab and oversees day-to-day operation of the facility. His research topics include using NMR methods to understand the dynamic processes occurring during carbon capture, utilization and storage activities and developing advanced spectroscopic methods to investigate systems containing actinide elements, polymers, ceramics, explosives and novel materials.
