In his time at LLNL, Al has served in various roles related to science and technology for national security applications: principal investigator, work package and control account manager, advisor, Joint Working Group site representative, major technical effort lead.

He currently oversees efforts to characterize, understand, and predict how materials of programmatic interest interact and age.
