Sookyung Kim is postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She has MS in Columbia University and Ph.D in Georgia Tech. Currently, she is pursuing various research projects on deep learning for physical science including climate data analysis and material data analysis. She mainly works on design and development of new deep learning model to analyze massive-scaled scientific model output. Specifically, her current projects includes prediction of future climate events using RNN, extreme climate analysis using object detection techniques, tracking tropical cyclone in re-analysis data, crystal structure prediction using reinforcement learning. She also works on 3-D reconstruction from limited angle CT data.
