Tim Hsu is a data scientist in the Center for Applied Scientific Computing. As a graduate student, he worked on fuel cell microstructure tomography characterization and finite element simulation of reaction-diffusion of electrochemical species in complex microstructure topology. At LLNL, he has focused on scientific machine learning in materials, chemistry, and biology. The bulk of his recent work is related to generative models and graph neural network representation for atomic structures, molecules, and proteins, as well as finetuning large language models for scientific applications. He has a wide of research interests and is generally interested in applications of applied mathematics for scientific challenges.
