Professional Background
Emily is a Staff Scientist in the Energetic Materials Formulation and Testing Group within the Materials Science Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She is the principal investigator for polymer development efforts supporting energetic materials formulation. Her research includes surface and interface characterization, polymer structure-property relationships, and formulation development for additive manufacturing.
Prior to joining LLNL in 2021, Emily completed a postdoctoral appointment in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University and received her Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her background includes polymer synthesis, surface modification, and the development of sequence-defined polymers for materials and biochemical applications.
