Stefan Hau-Riege is a computational and experimental physicist as well as the Associate Division Leader for Applied Physics at LLNL. He specializes in converging physics models, data science, and artificial intelligence methods primarily for nonproliferation applications. Stefan also uses x-ray–free–electron–lasers (XFEL) to study the structure, dynamics, and electronic properties of materials. He earned a MS in physics from the University of Hamburg, a PhD in materials science from MIT, and studied data science at Stanford University. Prior to joining LLNL, he worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories and Intel Corporation.
