Rose Hansen is communications director for the Physical and Life Sciences (PLS) directorate, a vital 1300-person organization that executes a wide variety of science and technology initiatives for the Lab, such as discovering new elements, modeling regional and global climate, and accelerating pharmaceutical development. In this role, she leads a team of editor/writers and designers who carry out wide-ranging internal and external communications projects, from newsletters, posters, and fact sheets to websites, videos, and more.

Rose also writes articles for Livermore's award-winning magazine, Science & Technology Review. She has covered everything from lasers to earthquakes to teeth while on the magazine's staff. Learning about the science, and figuring out how to creatively share it with the general public, is her favorite part of the job.
