Benjamin (Benjy) Grover is Deputy Principal Associate Director for Program Enablement for Strategic Deterrence (SD). He provides leadership and management of the Design Physics Division (DPD), the Office of Classification and Export Control (OCEC), the Weapons Business Operations Division, the Facility Operations Division and SD Information Technology (IT). His role is the focal point for all aspects of strategic staffing, working in partnership with all elements of SD and partner organizations to ensure a coordinated approach to recruiting, hiring, development and support of SD staff. 

In addition to his role in SD, Benjy also serves as the Laboratory Transformation Officer(TO).  In this role Benjy drives, coordinates and enables many of the Lab’s ongoing and future transformation efforts in culture, people management, policy, business systems and transformation-related strategic planning. Working across all business units at the lab to enact change.

Before this role Benjy served as a Division Leader in the Computing Directorate at LLNL and the Director of IT for the Weapons Program. There, he led a diverse staff of 150 computing professionals and championed initiatives in recruiting and retention.

In 2011, Benjy was on a temporary assignment from LLNL at the United States Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) in Germantown, MD. His assignment focused on industrial outreach and business development for ASCR via the SBIR/STTR program. Benjy has also had roles as a Deputy Division Leader for the Applications, Simulations and Quality Division at LLNL. He worked as a computer scientist/software developer on large-scale IT projects and software development projects. He holds a United States Patent (#7,339,584) for a 2D finite-element mesh generation algorithm.
