Jeff Gronberg has 30 years of experience in experimental particle physics and accelerators for basic science and security applications. As a graduate student at the University of California (UC), Los Angeles, he worked on the construction of a Uranium-Tetramethyl Pentane electromagnetic calorimeter for the UA1 experiment at CERN. After graduation he moved to UC Santa Barbara as a postdoctoral researcher and worked on the construction of a silicon vertex detector for the CLEO-II experiment at Cornell University. As an LLNL scientist, he led the development of a photon collider option for the International Linear Collider before branching out into applications of accelerators for security missions. He currently works on the Nuclear Detonation Detection System.
