Research Experience
- Deputy SC-FES POC for LLNL: coordinates LLNL response to call for proposal from SC-FES and assist in strategic planning for program growth in fusion research at LLNL.
- ST&E lead for the Livermore Institute for Fusion Technology: coordination of the LDRD and partnerships portfolio for fusion at LLNL.
- Deputy Hub Leader for IFE-STAR hub: manages R&D portfolio in support of fusion energy research across 10 institutions.
- Head of the diagnostic team on the MegaJoule neutron radiography project
- Lead for a pilot program for a dense plasma focus user facility at LLNL
- Principal Investigator of experimental campaigns on many international short and long pulse laser facilities (NIF, OMEGA at University of Rochester, JLF, LULI-2000)
Research Interests
I have a background in experimental plasma physics and high-energy-density science. My Ph.D. focused on laser-plasma interactions for advanced inertial confinement fusion designs and I wanted to continue working in fusion research after defending in 2014. Therefore, I joined LLNL as a member of the postdoctoral staff, working for the Inertial Confinement Fusion Program on the National Ignition Facility. I worked on different topics, from laser-driven B-fields and ICF campaigns to plasma optics; each involving different aspects of laser-plasma interaction. After my postdoc, I became interested in pulsed-power research and worked on the dynamic neutron radiography platform being built at LLNL using a dense plasma focus. I became the diagnostic team lead for the MegaJOuLe NeutronImaging Radiography (MJOLNIR). I continue contributing to fusion energy research as the deputy point of contact for the Office of Science Fusion Energy Sciences program at LLNL and as the science, technology, and engineering lead for the Livermore Institute for Fusion Technology.
