Nikola Dudukovic leads and contributes to several projects focused on advanced materials and manufacturing. His work includes formulating new material feedstocks, developing new fabrication processes, and employing LLNL’s 3D printing technologies to solve problems and enable new solutions in applications ranging from optics to CO2 capture and reduction.

Dr. Dudukovic joined LLNL in 2016 as a postdoc in the Materials Engineering Division (MED). He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working on self-assembling molecular gels. Prior to his doctorate degree, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in Germany, developing new methods for electrochemical characterization of fuel cells reactions as part of his M.S. thesis research. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Belgrade in Serbia.

Dudukovic is an author of numerous publications in top-tier scientific journals and an inventor of several LLNL patent-pending technologies. Beyond his technical work, he is passionate about hiring and mentoring new talent through their education and careers. He has received recognition for excellence in S&T and leadership, including awards for best publications, mentorship and inclusiveness, and an R&D 100 award for his contributions to LLNL’s 3D-printed glass technology.
