Carlos Downie presently works in the Global Security Computing Applications Division (GS-CAD) and is serving as a software engineer for the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) and Geophysical Monitoring Program (GMP) efforts.

Carlos graduated at the top of his class with a B.S. in Computer Science from Sonoma State University in the fall of 2017. After starting work at LLNL in the summer of 2018, Carlos joined the Analytics and Informatics Management Systems (AIMS) team and began developing projects for the Earth System Grid Federation. Later in 2021, as the ESGF project began to transition into a multi-lab project, Carlos assumed the role as the chief developer for the MetaGrid web application as part of the new ESGF2 effort. Carlos also joined the GMP team to support development of the Coda Calibration Tool (CCT) and went on to begin development of the new Coda Envelope Ratio Tool (CERT), splitting his time evenly between the ESGF2 and GMP projects.
