Zac joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as Research Scientist in February 2020 as part of the sub-group Rapid Materials Prototyping & Characterization of the Materials Dynamics and Kinetics group. His primary interest is focused on the use of Resonant Acoustic Mixing (RAM) for the synthesis, milling, and mixing of high explosive materials from the small scale to production level quantities.

Prior to joining the team at LLNL, Zac worked at Naval Air Warfare Center – China Lake in the Energetic Formulations group (2017–2020) where his work focused on RAM processing and additive manufacturing of propellants, explosives, and pyrotechnics. Zac also spent 7 years working at Innovative Materials and Processes, LLC located in Rapid City, SD where his worked focused on the development of new “green” pyrotechnic materials for the Department of Defense.
