Research Interests

I have participated in multiple projects within the nuclear diagnostics group at the National Ignition Facility (NIF). I have worked on detector hardware as well as Monte Carlo simulations of neutron and photon fluxes and activation in the NIF facility, structures, and diagnostics.

My other interests are in the application of radiation physics to medicine, national security, and radiation detection. As the former chair of the American Nuclear Society, Northern California Section, I am also very interested in nuclear policy and the promotion of the safe use of nuclear energy.
