Bill Clark is the Associate Superblock Director for Engineering, responsible for safe and secure operations of the high-hazard nuclear facility, ensuring operational readiness, recapitalizing aging facility infrastructure, and developing and installing new capabilities to support key mission deliverables, including pit rate production, sub-critical activities, and focused science experiments. He is also an Associate Division Leader in DTED for Superblock & Nevada Engineering.

He began his career in aerospace as a Design Drafter for Northrop Aircraft on the Super Hornet and then a Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin on the SBIRS satellite program. After joining LLNL in 2000, Bill served as a Project Engineer on the National Ignition Facility (NIF), Advanced Radiographic Capability (ARC), and Diode-pumped Alkali Laser (DPAL). In 2014, he joined DTED and the Bombs program, becoming B83-1 Weapon System Manager in 2018. Most recently, Bill served as the Engineering Design Lead for the W80-4 Life Extension Program (LEP), leading a large team to finalize weapon design and conduct production readiness and qualification activities. In 2024, he joined the Superblock team as acting Deputy Director.

Originally from Auburn, CA, Bill has lived in Livermore since 2000 with his wife, Rachel, and their now-grown daughters, Kyra and Kinsey. Outside of work, Bill enjoys birding, hiking, and nature photography.
