Logan Bekker is a research support engineer with the Materials Engineering Division (MED). His expertise includes a wide array of advanced additive manufacturing techniques specifically Large Area Projection Micro Stereolithography (LAPµSL), SLA and FDM printing. He also has experience in mechanical design, triboelectricity, microfluidic design, and shape changing liquid crystal elastomers. He also leads a group of advanced PµSL users which functions as a knowledge base for existing systems and welcomes new users and those who may have questions regarding additive manufacturing technologies.
Logan began at LLNL with a summer internship in 2013 and worked part time while completing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at San Jose State University. Upon graduating in 2017, Logan was converted to staff. He completed his master’s degree in mechanical and aerospace Engineering from UC Davis through the Laboratory’s Distance Learning Program in 2023, with a thesis focused on power generation through a triboelectric design of experiments.
