Dr. Tamara Dahlgren is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff who is working to advance the development of high quality software through internal consulting and research (e.g., COMPOSE-HPC: Software Composition for Extreme Scale Computational Science and Engineering).
Tamara has worked in the field of Computer Science for more than 20 years in a variety of areas, including education and business, conflict simulation, environmental databases, mass hierarchical storage systems (e.g., High Performance Storage System (HPSS)), laser control systems (i.e., National Ignition Facility), foreign animal disease modeling, and space situational awareness.
She completed her Ph.D. in computer Science from the University of California Davis in 2008. Tamara's dissertation is entitled “Performance-Driven Interface Contract Enforcement for Scientific Components”. Doctoral committee members were professors: Premkumar Devanbu (Advisor), Raju Pandey, and Zhaojun Bai. She earned her Masters degree in Computer Science from the California State University, Sacramento. Tamara’s undergraduate degree, in Computer Science and Mathematics, was earned from the California State University, Stanislaus, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Tamara was co-recipient of two R&D 100 awards: HPSS (1997) and Babel (2006).
